I hope this is true, the one thing (aside from more overtaking) that the DTM desparately needs is more manufacturers.

They could run a rally and a DTM programme that would be even more interesting and also bring in BMW 40 drivers on the grid and the Spa-Francorchamps circuit would be an excellent venue for the DTM

I suspect BMW will do either WTCC or DTM, not both. With WTCC they can reach a far larger TV audience, so DTM is highly unlikely unless the rules change further to make them even less competitive.
It's a shame Opal do not come back, I'm not sure (off the top of my head) what motor sports they're in at present.

opel couldn't break audi and mercedes dominance hence they withdrew. With the upcomming spec changes to the machines citroen would pour money in to a cause they can't win. And that won't sell cars.

I think Citroen used these DTM rumours to put WRC under pressure for rule changes.

Citroen would have to make a four door car much akin to they style of the A4 or the CLK, THEN have to make a silhouette chassis purely for DTM.
Renault are the closest to getting there becasuse theyve made mid engine megane silhouettes, all they need to do is make six or seven front engine Lagunas in the same style.

The Merc CLK is a 2 door coupe based on the C-Class. Also Audi used the A4 to replace the 3-door TT.
