The question I ask is, Why are audi in dtm??

surely the get more sales from le mans??

dtm must be massively expensive with all the aero and things that needs to be developed??

Yes you are right dave, it's very expensive for Audi, not only to built a new chassis and engine, but also develop the aerodynamics, like the little winglets.

I would like to see BMW are Merc competing in DTM. Just Merc's would be boring.

You do generally get big crowds at DTM races, which is important exposure for the Audi brand.

So they probably still think it's worthwhile.

Hi all,

after a good week-end at the track and Audi seeing there arse, and hearing the paddock stories, i wonder who will win at Hockenheim, its clear it will be Audi but which Red Bull will be first across the line first. I think its more like match fixing so all eyes are on the last race of the season, sell out crowd and max viewing on the TV, its Audis turn this year as there last winning year was 2004, just which pilot.

So who is off to the last one of the season, and what about the Cars and Stars event in Stutgart

Spengler is only two points away from Ekstrom, I'd say Bruno can win it, especially as the Merc is usually faster than Audi at Hockenheim.

I think if one of the two constructors pulls out of the DTM,
then DTM wouldn't excist anymore.
It would end.. probably.

It's supposed to be a multi-constructors championship,
if there's only Mercedes.. then you could name it German Mercedes Cup or something...

It is still a dream of the DTM organisers to bring BMW & Alfa Romeo back into the scene.. but BMW are happy with the things they are doïng : F1 & WTCC
& Alfa Romeo hasn't got big plans for the future at the moment.

Your right, only Merc competing just wouldn't work.

We need at least two car makers. Of course I'd like to see more car makers competing, like BMW and Alfa Romeo. But frankly, if they don't wish to join - it's their loss!
