I don't mind NASCAR it's ok for the smashes and I used to think it wasn't racing but now I understand the drafting side of it and the endurance of car and driver after watching the highlights for years on Channel5....

Anyhoo one track that I always love is Bristol Motor Speedway what a location if I go to the states that's a place I would love to go (Tickets impossible to get I hear though) the track is like a Veladrome not a car circuit all good stuff and love Boogity Boogity boogity.......

Larry :D

Much love for Bristol here too (well, both Bristol Motor Speedway and the Bristol where I work - only a few thousand miles apart! [lol]. The only oval we had here was the old speedway / greyhound track, but they demolished it and built an IKEA. hmm!)

I wrote on another board (not a motorpsort board but one with a largely US membership with a number of NASCAR fans) this afternoon that if I were to go to one NASCAR raice weekend it would be a Bristol weekend, the place is nuts, the racing is nuts and for me it's a spectacle like little else on the calendar.

You have a stock car oval in the Mendips Mark, still running to this day. Goes under the name of Mendips, Bristol.

We made buds with a couple of guys who have season tickets to Bristol. Because they can't always get to the races they asked if we would be interested in their tickets if they can't go. Of cause we said yes. Never no might get to go one day.
