Hi All
I've been watching motors tv for about a month and i've seen the world of outlaws and was wondering if motors tv would be showing some home grown stockcar racing on short ovals?
On dirt and tarmac.
You really cant beat it v8 powered cars racing round short, tight ovals and with full contact wot more can you ask for?

To be honest I watched the National Hot Rods mainly, but can name many long trips to Brafield near Northampton to see the F1's. I do not consider the F1's put on by Spedeworth to be representative, even though they from time to time come on at Yarmouth Stadium a mile or so down the road.

Freeze- BriSCA F1's appear regularly at Kings Lynn in Norfolk on a Saturday night, and even have a meeting scheduled for Ipswich Foxhall Heath in October should you wish to get a ferry across. Go to www.brisca.com for all information.

Spedeworth recently hosted the BSCDA F1 Drivers Champoinships & Ipswich. One of the most awesome meetings I have EVER seen. They put it on with the Superstox World Final- Billed as " Thunder on the Heath" & it was!!. I took 3 "Stock" virgins & we all had a blast. I think the person who wrote about "Spedeworth" F1's is a little confused. Spedeworth promote V-8 Stocks. These are V-8 engines, but they are British engines such as the Rover V-8. BriSCA F1's are Big American Engines, fairly unlimited power!!. FWJ. is a superb driver, but living down south I don't get to see BriSCA's very often. They DO have a World Qualifier round @ Wimbledon on Sun 15th April 2007, again promoted by Spedeworth. It is a full BriSCA F1 Meet, supported by Spedeworth 2l Stock Cars. (If you go cheer my mate #194 Cecil on in the 2l Stock saloons!!)
For DVD's of Spedeworth meets check out www.mhvideos.co.uk. I can vouch for Martin Hunt's DVD's. Top Quality product!! He has the "Thunder on the Heath" DVD @ £15.99+P&P. You can pay by PayPal, or usual methods!!

Anyone else old enough to remember when Promotasport/Rochester Motor Club used to run Brisca F1's at Brands : both on the Clearways Oval and the wrong way round the Paddoc Bend/Bottom Bend/Service Road loop, also known as The Mountain Circuit I believe. They also used to have meetings at Lydden and Snetterton.

I'm not old enough to remember those days, but they sound like they would have been good to watch. But i do know that at least once a year they still use the oval circuit at Lydden, racing various oval formulas in a festival of speed as it is often advertised. This year it happened in September and i'm sure it will probably happen again next year as well.

Indeed Deano and the F1's did visit a few yeras ago but the track is a little too long for the rear diff ratios in the cars and the guys that did go had to pack up for fear of blowing their engines.
They did run a special gear set at Rockingham and that seemed to work but really those kind of events are more demo runs.
Great to see a few people here thinking of going to proper sock car racing next year.
Why not come and see us all at the NEC in January, BriSCA are having a great stand with totty and handouts, plus willing helpers who can tell you where to go and watch.
Plus the guys will be in the arena, they are always the show stoppers there!!
And the F2 boys are there in force too, 500 plus drivers and regular 100 car meetings, why would you wanna watch anything else!!
