Just thought I'd start a thread for all the chat for this weekend's action at Brands.

Managed to get up there myself today after the rest of the family decided not to go to cricket, and managed to catch the second half of the first DTM session and all of the second session. It was great to see the cars in the flesh and the sound was as awesome as ever. When you get a chance to see 'The Vomit Comet' up close you can see the amount of work that must have gone into doing it.

The start of the day was put back by 90 mins due to slow-clearing mist in the area, which meant that I didn't get to see the Sidecars, but more DTM made up for it.

The drivers that impressed me the most today were Adam Carroll, who looked well on the pace, Hakkinen, who looked the smoothest driver out there, La Rosa was pushing hard and Di Resta looked fast as well.

Paffett seemed to be struggling with set-up which is why he was so low on the timesheets and Susie just seemed to be struggling a bit all day. Just hope she can turn it around tomorrow but I feel it would be asking a lot to improve significantly imo.

cant wait for the race. i will be cheering on any british driver that does well. obviously adam is my favorite, but any brit will do! i think adam is doing an unbeleivable job with the car he has.

anyway i have a question-

anyone know why in dtm, scottish drivers get a scottish flag on their number boards, yet jamie green (english), paffett (english) and carroll (northern irish) have a union jack?

Funny you should ask that as I was thinking the same thing this afternoon watching Susie and Gary go past and I wondered why Susie had the Saltire on her car but Gary had the Union Jack.

Tbh I don't really know but it might have something to do with the fact that the Scottish aren't too keen on the union with the English and therefore want to be seen as being separate but other than that I don't know. If you look it is the same in other sports where in F1 Coulthard is seen as being Scottish and not British and the it was the same with Colin McRae as well. In my book they are all British, so they should all carry the Union Jack or they should carry the individual's home country flag, which would be the Cross of St George for Gary.

yeah ive also noticed it in champcar aswel. i think wilson has the cross of st george whilst i think it was dan clarke who had a union flag. they are both english!

they must ask the driver to choose the flag with which they want to race under....still....weird!

Well if I get the chance to speak to one of the 'British' drivers on Sunday, I'll have to ask them to find out.
