So what a race!! For once F1 lived up to the hype, and kept me glued to the tv throught the race. Fantastic from Alonso and MS, so very closely matched, and Kimi from the back of the grid great run as well. What was up with JPM, he should have beaten Kimi. Button did ok, but should have made more of his chances, but he did stick it to JPM a few times.
Nico Rosberg has to be mentioned for his fantastic debut. Sure he messed up in Q2 yesterday and again at the first corner (tv pic wasnt great, looked like Heidfeld cut across his front taking off his front wing) but after rookie mistakes he made up for it. Fastest lap and very racey!!! Makes you wonder about Webber. Lets see more of this from Williams Cosworth for the rest of the year
Red Bull were a pleasant surprise, quicker than i thought they'd be. Toyota, well there's gonna be some hard questions for the biggest spending team in F1, they were nowhere, and Trulli looked like he had given up, Ralf went past him pretty easy.
I think the FIA will alter the rev limit on STR's V10's as they did pretty well today, maybe not for next weekend, but bu the time of the European season.
Lets hope this racing continues next weekend in Malaysia, and it wasnt just and odd race where things come together once in a while for a great race for us.

What does concern me is that the race was won BY A PITSTOP. Will things now go back to where we nearly died of boredom a while back??

It was fun for sure. If it continues like this it's going to be a great season.
And well maybe it was won by a pitstop (but that's also part of the game, and if your team is great but you drive like crap you still can't win, so it's definitely not _only_ won by a pitstop...) but the rest of the race was definitely fun. Nice to see that there's quit a lot pf teams that can be defined as top or sub-top, so that should be promosing. My weekend was great
Actually they better make it a nice show since I'll visit Silverstone (and would go to Spa untill they decided not to drive there this year )....

Lets see the only lead changes occurred when the leader took his pitstop...that to me sounds like the race was won by a pitstop.
The rest of the race was fun? What exactly was fun about it...I was bored to tears by the total lack of "fun", not to mention the continual misplaced adoration for Jenson button by the ITV (British TV).
The only plus was Steve Rider (ITV) bringing some class to the presenting role, having the knowledge of Motorsport to ask sensible questions and respond to the answers given with a good follow up. The previous presenter Jim Rosenthal had question on cue cards and would continue onto the next one regardless of the answer he received.

I don't know ITV, in Holland we gave SBS6 with Olav Mol and Jack Plooy. They're a bit slow sometimes but most of the time they do kinda know what they're talking about, without adoring 1 person (but of course, Albers as a Dutchie will get some more positive comments then others but not _too_ much so to speak, commentators should be objective I think).
Well maybe it wasn't nonstop overtaking action, but I guess that's just part of the F1. If you're looking for that, I don't think that F1 will give much fun (except when De la Rosa is out on track ). But hey the season has just started and although 1 race is too early to judge, it looks good for the rest of the season with more teams that can get a podium, then that there are any podium places...

There was a generous amount of overtaking, that's good enough for me!
And despite the result being decided on a pit stop, we didn't know that at the time.
What I mean is, the outcome was in doubt until right at the very end, with Schuey and Alonso almost re-creating Imola last year for us.......F1 needs more of this and less backing off in the last 15 laps or so.
Button was focused on, but hey, at least he was actually doing something worthwhile this time, scrapping with Montoya and passing him...twice!!
And what about Nico.....star drive or what...so many good overtakes....hopefully this guy will be seen a lot!!
So yeah, a good start, certainly better than what Melbourne usually puts on, but was it just beginners luck, or is the 2006 championship REALLY that close??
