Anyone know if coverage of the 2008 Super GT season been confirmed for Motors TV yet? If so, wish it'd return to 'same day' - last year's races were delayed by a week or more...

Oh yes, it would be great to see Super GT again (and same day coverage would be phantastic!!) 2008 season is to start in a week already with the brand new Nissan GT-R...

The new GT-R should be great - although I've never really liked the red and silver colour scheme Nismo's been using for the past five or six years - I thought the intro of the GT-R might've been a good opportunity to come up with a fresh livery...

Well, I admit the coverage is usually a bit iffy - camera angles that somehow don't convey the true speeds (it's at least as fast and furious as DTM) and a baffling total lack of in-car/on-board footage (very odd, seeing as Japan's the hi-tech gadget capital of the world!)
I have seen it live a few times and it's 1000 times better than BTCC (and, I suspect, WTCC, although I've never caught that live yet).

And as well as the new GT-R making its appearance this year, there's also Ralph Firman Jr. defending his title.

But it appears MOTORS isn't showing it (according to the list in the suggestions thread Matt refers to...)

Well the BTCC cars aren't exactly slow, and they provide much more entertaining racing than Super GT.

Super GT cars have all the power and speed you could wish for, but dull as ditch water racing.

I know what you mean. BTCC can be entertaining in a 'Sweeney car chase' kind of way, but seriously, the paucity of the machinery is startling when compared to Super GT or DTM.
If it were our second-level national tin top championship it'd be great, but it represents BRITISH motor racing, for goodness sake - if they called it something else it might be OK, but to many of us BTCC conjures up memories of the late 80s... Yes, we have no car industry left, but surely we can do better than this? It is entertaining in a dodgemsey bish-bash-bosh way, but think, without the personality/celebrity sideshow (Plato-Neal and their hangbags), would it really be much of a show at all? Or lawnmower racing in (slightly) better machinery?

And I agree, Super GT can look dull for the reasons I mentioned previously. But it's the coverage, not the racing or the technology. F1 can look dull and processional for the same reasons - and DTM, too, on the longer circuits. But the exotic machinery makes it watchable. Sorry, Astras and SEATs just don't do it for me. But, hey, that's just my opinion. Each to his own.

Anyone heard anything yet as the first race has now been run and the official SuperGT only has broadcast details for November 2007.

Its not in the TV guide for next week either...

If it were a question of sponsorship/advertising, I would ahve thought Nissan would have dug deep as the GT-R35s always were favourate and look like they may dominate this year the way the R32 Skylines dominated the old series 15-20 years ago.

iv been waiting for ages to find out if Motors tv would be showing the super gt's,complete silence from them,not good at all
