Right, I thought I'd start off this thread so we can all discuss the 2008 F1 season.

What are your thoughts, what do you want to see?

Will Mclaren be compeitive again like this year, and can Renault return to their winning ways?

And with no traction control next year, we are likely to see more mistakes...

What do you think - discuss! :D

First McLaren have to survive December 7th... the day when the FIA inspects the MP4-23.
Now I'm not saying it's got intellectual property from Ferrari, in fact I know it hasn't... but it's got four wheels and so does the Ferrari. You know what I mean? It only takes the FIA to imagine that there is something in there stolen from Ferrari.

Anyway, it's an even number year, so I'm expecting Ferrari to dominate.
Alonso will stay with McLaren.
Renault will be back to challenge for the title.
In other words, 2006 all over again. Ferrari vs. Renault, Raikkonen vs. Kovalainen, Raikko wins again. ::)
McLaren doesn't win a race, only 8 podiums.

Constructors' champ result:
1. Ferrari
2. Renault
3. BMW
4. McLaren Mercedes
5. Williams Toyota
6. Toyota
7. Force India [lol]
8. STR Ferrari
9. Red Bull Renault
10. Honda
11. Super Aguri Honda

Drivers' champ result:
1. Kimi Raikkonen
2. Heikki Kovalainen
3. Felipe Massa
4. Nick Heidfeld
5. Nelshino Piquet
6. Robert Kubica
7. Lewis Hamilton
8. Nico Rosberg
9. Fernando Alonso
10. Jarno Trulli

And you read it here first.

I would like a compeitive Honda too, although it probably won't happen. [lol]

I think next year will be a fight between Mclaren and Ferrari again, with a fierce battle between BMW, Willaims and Renault for the third best team - similar to this year.

Toyota will be even worse than this year, which is an amazing accheivment. [lol]

Perhaps HONDA should have a customer engine for a couple of seasons to back on track with the other teams :8

Honda with a customer engine?

That might not actually be a bad idea, as Honda's current engine is no match for Ferrari's or Mercdede'Benz's. It's unreliable and underpowered, their V8 is poor compared to their V10.

I once heard that the Honda V10 was running over 1000 bhp at the 2005 Chinese GP! [eek]

No it isn't, but their V10 was one of the best.

Cheers for posting that Chris,

we have two new street circuits, Valancia and Singapore - the latter is a night race.

Also, the season runs for longer, it now ends in November.

Turkey has been moved foward too.

Is the minor adjustment to the dates for Japan and China an attempt to move them slightly out of the typhoon season or further into it :S: ::)

Probably a rest for teams.

To have Singapore, Japan and China all in consecutive weekends would be a killer for them.

Indeed, the calendar has a good look about it next year, although the race in November will surely mean a shorter off-season, which is great for us fans but not so good for the teams.
