Fiore makes DJR switch for 2012

Dean Fiore will switch to Dick Johnson Racing next year following the team's decision to expand to a three car effort.

Fiore has spent the past three seasons racing for his own Triple F outfit, which runs as a satellite operation of the Paul Morris Motorsport squad. Now he will switch to the famous DJR team, who will also hold on to current drivers Steve Johnson and James Moffat for 2012.

Fiore will compete in one of the team's Jim Beam-backed Ford Falcons, as will Johnson, with Moffatt competing in a Norton 360-supported machine.

“Running a team and having to find sponsors created a lot of pressure, which meant I couldn’t focus purely on my racing,” Fiore said following the announcement.

“Jim Beam Racing has a great team behind them and I’m really looking forward to working with them next year and being able to drive alongside Steve. The pressure of running a team is off me now, and I can concentrate on driving.”

Meanwhile team owner Johnson expressed his delight at extending his long-running sponsorship deal with the drinks company.

“We’re thrilled to know we have the support from Jim Beam as we’ve worked so closely with them over the years,” he said.

“We know our fans and our ‘Team Mates’ will be as excited as us about next season, and to have Dean Fiore as part of the Jim Beam Racing set up in 2012 adds even more anticipation.”
