Superstars: Malucelli gets Motorzone seat

FIA GT race winner, Matteo Malucelli, make his Superstars series debut next month.

The 25-year-old Italian, who was runner-up in the GT2 class of the Le Mans 24 Hours for the past two years and also finished second overall in the FIA GT2 Championship in 2008, has signed with Motorzone Race Car for the Italian Superstars series events at Vallelunga and Mugello.

Malucelli will drive a fourth Chevrolet Lumina CR8 in the races alongside Johnny Herbert, Nico Caldarola and Filippo Zadotti.

“We know he is an extremely talented youngster and he has proved that in other motorsport categories,” said Motorzone team owner, Fabrizio Armetta. “I hope this first deal will evolve into something that continues in 2011, but while we wait for that we are proud to have another top name in our driver line-up.”

Watch the Superstars series on Motors TV (Sky Channel 413, Virgin Media 545) in 2010.
