WSR: Mansell signs with Comtec

Greg Mansell will return to the World Series by Renault this season after agreeing a deal with Comtec Racing.

The 22-year-old son of 1992 Formula One World Champion Nigel, made his debut in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series last season with Ultimate Motorsport, taking a best finish of ninth at Spa-Francorchamps. However, when the British team withdrew from the series towards the end of the year, he drove for Comtec in the final round at Motorland.

2010 will be the first time Mansell has spent more than a single season in any series, following one-year campaigns in Formula BMW UK, British F3 and Formula Atlantic in the USA.

He will dovetail his single-seater season with a sports car campaign in the Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours where he will share a Beechdean Motorsport-run LMP1 Zytek 09S with his father, Nigel, and brother, Leo.
