Hansen re-signs with Interwetten for 2012 Eurocup


Swedish racer timmy Hansen will return to the Interwetten squad for a second season in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup this year.

19-year-old Hansen enjoyed a strong rookie campaign for the Austrian squad, scoring a dominant win in Hungary, a podium in Germany and a hatful of additional points-paying finishes.

"I am delighted to compete in the Eurocup for the Interwetten.com Racing Team again," Hansen said of the deal. "I have full confidence in the team, which is constantly striving to further develop.

"Their spirit and motivation are amazing," he added.

Hansen joins Monaco-based British racer Melville McKee at Interwetten, with a third driver still to be confirmed.

Robin Frijns seized the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship lead from Carlos Sainz Jr. at the Hungaroring thanks to a victory and second place finish behind Timmy Hansen in race two.
