The amalgamation of British and German series' paved the way for an immensely popular Formula BMW Europe championship in 2008, travelling the continent as part of the Formula One support package. International motorsport's most junior-of-junior categories more than held its own in the money-is-everything world of grand prix racing, providing perhaps the most entertaining racing across the entire bill.
