Brit F3: Tandy gets Euro Series seat

British F3 front runner Nick Tandy will make his F3 Euro Series debut this weekend with Kolles & Heinz Union.

Tandy, who took his first career F3 win at Rockingham last month just days after the tragic death of his brother and JTR team manager Joe Tandy in a road traffic accident, will replace Carlo van Dam in the Kolles line-up after the Dutch driver split with the team this week.

The 24-year-old Tandy currently lies third in the British F3 International Series standings in the JTR-run Mygale-Mercedes, but will sample a Dallara chassis / Volkswagen engine combination in the Euro Series.

"We are delighted to have signed up such an experienced driver for our team," said team co-owner Werner Heinz.

He is set to make his debut this weekend at the Norisring for round 3 of the 2009 season and will be the fourth driver to race for Kolles in three events this season. At this stage it’s unclear as to whether Tandy will compete in the full season with Kolles, as the Euro Series has several date clashes with the British series.
