Brit F3: Nakajima ends Snetterton test on top

Raikkonen Robertson Racing enjoyed a 1-2 at the top of the time sheets as the second and final day of this week’s British F3 test at Snetterton came to an end.

It was Daisuke Nakajima who had the honour of recording the fastest time of the test as conditions improved markedly in the afternoon to come within just four thousandths of a second of last year’s pole time.

The Japanese driver set a best lap of 1m02.109s to edge out team mate Carlos Huertas in the sister Double R Dallara-Mercedes by only 0.008secs. Indeed. It was to prove an ultra competitive session all the way down the grid with less than half a second covering the top ten.

Adriano Buzaid was next up, the first of three Carlin Motorsport runners to make the top five, the Colombian’s 1m02.120s enough to pip team mates Jean-Eric Vergne and yesterday’s pacesetter James Calado. Will Buller meanwhile again proved the fastest of the Hitech runners in sixth, ahead of Fortec’s Ollie Webb, Carlin’s Jazeman Jaafar, reigning Formula BMW Europe champion Felipe Nasr and Daniel McKenzie.

Menasheh Idafar was again fastest of the National Class runners, his 1m03.029s effort from the afternoon proving 0.335sec better than T-Sport team mate James Cole.
