Brit F3: Snegirev gets Fortec seat

Russian racer Max Snegirev will step up to the British F3 International class with Fortec Motorsport this season.

The 22-year-old, who is based in London, made his F3 debut in the National Class with Team West-Tec last season after two years racing in Formula Palmer Audi. He finished fourth in the final standings and now follows champion, Daniel McKenzie, who will be his team-mate at Fortec in 2010, and runner-up, Gabriel Dias, into the main category.

"We are looking forward to Max driving our car for the first time at Silverstone on 23 March,” said Fortec’s senior race engineer Mick Kouros. “Max knows that he has missed several test days but is keen to start working with the team and his new team-mates.

“We will all be working hard to help bring Max up to speed with the International class car, and although he is starting behind all the rest we will be working on continually improving as the season develops."

Snegirev joins McKenzie and Oli Webb in Fortec’s three-car line-up.
