Orlandi re-signs with West-Tec

European F3 Open champions Team West-Tec have confirmed Luca Orlandi will return to the series in 2012.

The Italian will hope to improve on his third position in the Copa Class this year when the category upgrades to Dallara’s F308 chassis. West-Tec will run the car in conjunction with the all-new new F312 which forms the basis of the championship class.

“We had a good year in 2011 and I am looking to improve in 2012,” said Orlandi. “I know it will be hard as the Copa is always at its strongest when a new chassis is launched, but I am up for the challenge!”

Team boss John Miller added: “Luca is a great member of the team and we are delighted to welcome him back.

“I am also pleased to be able to confirm that we will also be continuing our sponsorship with Orlandi Realty, Luxurious Homes which will continue to feature on all of our Formula 3 cars.”

In related news, championship officials have released details of next season’s calendar that features no less than five current grand prix venues. Portimao kicks things off at the start of the year before stints at the Nurburgring, Spa, Brands Hatch, Paul Ricard, Hungaroring, Monza and Barcelona.
