Regalia joins Campos for F3 Open assault

Facu Regalia will make his European F3 Open debut this season after becoming the first driver to sign for the returning Campos Racing squad.

Having spent three seasons competing in Formula BMW Europe, the 20-year-old will be hoping to call on the experience gained in Italy’s domestic F3 series throughout 2011 as he bids to emulate the achievements of fellow Argentinean and 2006 champion Ricardo Risatti.

“It will be my second year in Formula 3, a category [in] which I have achieved pole positions and podium finishes, although I will be making my debut in European F3 Open, and I will need an adaption time,” said Regalia.

“I am sure it will be a tough season, but I’m going to work hard, and I will try my best. I want to say thanks to everyone. This is a fantastic chance for my motorsport career.”

Adrian Campos meanwhile returns to running an F3 Open team for the first time since 2009 when Bruno Mendez scooped the drivers’ crown.
