F.Ford: Cammish to test Formula ADAC machine in Germany

Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain frontrunner Daniel Cammish has been rewarded for his perfect start to 2009 with a Formula ADAC Championship test at Lausitz, Germany, next week.

The 18 year-old from Leeds has been invited to join the Neuhauser Racing squad at the EuroSpeedway on July 8 where he will gain his first experience of a slicks-and-wings single seater, with a view to competing at the Nurburgring and Oschersleben rounds in August and October.

The 145bhp Dallara represents a significant jump in performance compared to Cammish’s usual Kevin Mills Racing-run Spectrum Formula Ford mount which has powered him to nine Scholarship Class wins out of nine so far this term. Neuhauser Racing team owner Hannes Neuhauser admitted however that it was Daniel’s performance in relation to the faster Championship runners which had caught his eye.

“British Formula Ford is proving to be a championship that develops excellent drivers, as we are seeing with Adrian Campfield this season in Formula ADAC,” he said. “We as a team have kept an eye out for a driver we think would be a good addition to our team and Daniel has proved that you can run at the front of any championship if you have a lot of talent even in a chassis that is not the most popular out there. We are looking forward to working with Dan over the summer."

Cammish, who currently occupies third in the overall British Formula Ford standings, will continue his Scholarship Class charge at the fourth round of the season at Snetterton this weekend.
