F.Ford: Malvern and Pye named Rising Stars

British Formula Ford frontrunners Scott Malvern and Scott Pye have been awarded ‘Rising Star’ status by the British Racing Drivers Club.

The championship’s top two were given the honours on Saturday at the BRDC’s home circuit of Silverstone, venue for round’s 13, 14 and 15 of the championship.

‘Scouted’ from trackside, the BRDC Rising Stars are the Club’s junior members and representatives in national championships. Lewis Hamilton is one of the scheme’s greatest success stories.

Malvern said that he was delighted to have his achievements so far this season recognised.
“I’m over the moon,” he said. “It’s something I’ve always thought would be a great boost to my career and I feel honoured to have been selected.”

Pye added: “It’s a fantastic honour and I’m going to do my best to live up to the accolade.”
Malvern currently leads Pye by 38 points with four rounds remaining.
