FFord: Cammish sticks with KMR

Formula Ford Scholarship Class champion Daniel Cammish will stay with Kevin Mills Racing for a full title assault in 2010.

The 20-year-old made a big impression in the series last season, his first in car racing, dominating the Scholarship Class and regularly challenging for outright podium finishes, although his form tailed off at the end of the season as he dovetailed his campaign with races in the German ADAC Formula Masters series.

Despite interest from reigning champions Jamum Racing, for whom Cammish tested this winter, the Yorkshireman has opted to stick with KMR in 2010,and will race a Spectrum chassis.

“Jamun is a very good team, but I didn’t see anything that was miles better than what KMR had,” said Cammish.

“ADAC definitely distracted me last year and there will be none of that this time. There’s only one goal and that’s to be champion.”

KMR Team Principal Kevin Mills feels Cammish, who is currently training in Australia, can challenge Jamun’s recent domination of the single-seater category.

“Daniel is one of the quickest guys coming back and we’ll be looking to beat those red cars,” he said.
