FFord: Tucker completes Fluid deal after impressive test

Karting star James Tucker has completed a deal with Fluid Motorsport to race in the MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain this season.

Tucker received praise from Fluid boss Lindsay Allen after a first run in one of the team’s Van Diemen chassis last week and another impressive test session, this time at Brands Hatch, has seen the 2009 MSA British Superkart Championship runner-up clinch a place with the front-running team.

The 20-year-old driver, who has no prior experience in car racing, was immediately close to the day’s benchmark time at Brands, despite torrential rain which made conditions extremely difficult.

Tucker’s testing performances also attracted the attention of business entrepreneur, David O’Connor, who has decided to support Tucker’s 2010 campaign with financial backing.

“James is an excellent driver and I can see his potential and want to be a part of his success in the future,” O’Connor said.

Tucker, who is one of only 35 drivers aged between 16 and 24 to be named to the MSA Academy, added: “I am really starting to feel at home in the car now, with every lap being quicker than the previous. Obviously I owe a great thank you to David O' Connor and all my other sponsors for all they have done for me.”

James will also be updating his fans this season in his progress new blog on www.motorstv.com.
