WHAT HAPPENED IN 2013

Sébastien Ogier's win on Rally Sweden was also the first for the Volkswagen Polo R in the WRC, in just its second outing. Ogier led nearly the entire rally, thanks to his best time in qualifying, which saw him start last among the WRC entries and of course the high-performance level of the VW. The Frenchman completed his dominace of the weekend in setting best time on the Pwer Stage to move to the top of the driver championship standings.  Despite pushing all the way to the last of the 22 special stages, Sébastien Loeb and Citroen were just no match for the dominance of Ogier and Volkswgen. Mads Ostberg battled back from an early 20-second time penalty to get the better of Jari-Matti Latvala in the battle for third place.
