WRC: SS5 Sordo takes one for the Juniors

Dani Sordo set best time on SS5 Jukojarvi 2 of Rally Finland, his first in the Junior team.

The recently relegated, for gravel rounds, Spaniard powered his way to a 1.7s win from Jari Matti Latvala to distant himself from the works cars of Loeb and Ogier to conserve his third place overall. Privateer C4 pilot, Petter Solberg finished 3rd and had his overall lead from Latvala trimmed to 1.3s. With the top three separated by 5.1s there’s very little in it. Ogier at 11.8s and Loeb at 18.9 are lurking in the weeds with still miles and miles of Finnish excitement still to come.

Mini in doubt - 03/02 - 10:01

Despite an impressive runner-up result on the Monte-Carlo Rally, Mini’s days in the WRC may be numbered.

Championship leader and the only non-Scandinavian winner of Rally Sweden, Sébastien Loeb heads a massive list of entrants for the running of the only snow round on the calendar.

Sébastien Loeb never turned a wheel wrong over the five days taking Rally Monte-Carlo to score his 68th WRC victory. The eight-time world champion capped off a perfect week with the Power Stage win and a maximum 28 points.

Sébastien Loeb is one stage away from his 6th Rally Monte-Carlo Rally success and the early lead in the 2012 WRC.
