WRC: Latvala speeds into the lead of Rally Finland



Jari-Matti Latvala s 7.9s ahead of Petter Solberg as Rally Finland heads toward stage 9.


Sébastien Loeb set scratch time on SS8 Mhinpaa 1, but the flying Finn took 5.2s out of Norway’s Pëtter Solberg. Henning Solberg, who was up to fourth place, crashed out of the event, moving the Frenchman Loeb into equal 4th overall with Dani Sordo.
 
Juha Kankkunen is cruising along in, seventh overall, and 33.3s behind Mathew Wilson. Kimi Raikkonen is the last of the WRC entries in 8th place S-WRC leader, Juha Hanninen is 9th overall and is battling with countryman Rantanen, 10th overall,  for top honours among the S-2000 cars.

Despite an impressive runner-up result on the Monte-Carlo Rally, Mini’s days in the WRC may be numbered.

Championship leader and the only non-Scandinavian winner of Rally Sweden, Sébastien Loeb heads a massive list of entrants for the running of the only snow round on the calendar.

Sébastien Loeb never turned a wheel wrong over the five days taking Rally Monte-Carlo to score his 68th WRC victory. The eight-time world champion capped off a perfect week with the Power Stage win and a maximum 28 points.

Sébastien Loeb is one stage away from his 6th Rally Monte-Carlo Rally success and the early lead in the 2012 WRC.
