WRC: Germany - SS18 - Loeb heading to number 8

4.37kms are all that stand in front of Sébastien Loeb taking his 8th straight Rally Deutschland.

A 59th career win for the six-time world champion and a sweep of the podium for Citroen are shaping up to be the story line for round 9 of this year’s World Rally Championship.
Following the drive shaft problem suffered yesterday by team mate Mikko Hirvonen Jari-Matti Latvala is the lone Ford Focus left in the rally and the gravel specialist is on his way for a career best 4th on the asphalt. Five stage wins, including SS17 for privateer Citroen man Petter Solberg, see the former world champion fifth, ahead of Matthew Wilson and KImi Raikkonen.
In S-WRC, Patrick Sandell wil take a slim 3.3 second lead from Martin Prokop into the Super Special. This battle, which was a three-way fight until P-G Andersson had his mechanical problems, is still on and has been the best throughout the weekend. In P-WRC, Armando Araujo has a comfortable advantage over Hayden Paddon going into the final timed sector of the rally.
