WRC: Germany - Citroen heading for a sweep

Sébastien Loeb and Petter Solberg took stage wins this morning as the Rally Deutschland podium is shaping up to be an all C4 affair.

Heading into service, Loeb is 48 seconds ahead of team mate Dani Sordo with a repeat of the morning tests and the super special ahead as he heads towards his 8th win on the bounce in Germany.
In the battle for third, Sébastien Ogier has built is advantage to 19.3s from Jari-Matti Latvala in the Ford Focus RS WRC.Mikko Hirvonen’s disappointing weekend in Germany continued when the gearbox broke in his Ford, leaving the Finn with just first gear and out of the top ten. Matthew Wilson has moved past Kimi Raikkonen for 6th in what s now the closest race. The Brit has a 6.9s lead from the Finn heading into the final three timed sectors.
With Ken Block retiring before the start of the day with brake and alternator problems and Hirvonen’s transmission situation, Khalid Al Qassimi and Mark Van Eldik are 8th and 9th respectively.
In S-WRC, P-G Andersson had a terrible stage 15. The Skoda driver exploded a wheel rim on a corner dropping tons of time and out of the battle for the class win with fellow Fabia man Patrik Sandell and Martin Prokop in the Ford Fiesta S2000. Sandell has a precarious five second lead from the Czech heading into the final stages. This one may not be decided until the 4.37km Circuis Maximus Trier Super Special.
