Sordo takes SS8

Dani Sordo kicked off the second loop of day two of Rally Monte-Carlo with the stage win and is now 1.5 seconds adrift of second place Petter Solberg.

With Sébastien Loeb having broken away from the rest of the field, the battle for second is on the boil with Mini and Ford fighting for the spot. Mikko Hirvonen is gradually coming to terms with the DS3 WRC and has 12 seconds in hand from the, so far, steady Evgeny Novikov, who has over taken Sébastien Ogier The dry conditions are working against the Frenchman as he battles the ‘big boys’ with his modest Skoda Faboa S2000.

The rest of the top ten consists of Francois Delecour, Pierre Campana, Ott Tanak and Per-Gunnar Andersson in the leading SRC Proton Satria S2000.
