Latvala leads after day 2

Jari-Matti Latvala adds to his Wales Rally GB lead

The Finn continued his strong run with a 1.9s victory over Sébastien Loeb on the final stage of day two to push his lead to 24.5s over team-mate Petter Solberg.

Only disaster stands in the way of a repeat win for Latvala as well as a desperately needed one-two result for Ford. Loeb is a distant third at 30.9 seconds and even the greatest driver in the sport knows his DS3 doesn’t have what it needs to defeat the Fiesta RS.

Mads Ostberg is a comfortable fourth place, 33.5s ahead of Mikko Hirvonen. Ott Tanak seems to have the upper hand over Evgeny Novikov in the fight for sixth. Thierry Neuville is next in eighth place ahead of Matthew Wilson and Martin Prokop.
