Latvala rolls off the podium!

Jari-Matti Latvala has rolled his Ford Fiesta WRC and is now out of podium contention.

The 54.3km Guanajuatito stage claimed the Finn. just as he was setting a blistering pace. Latvala was clear of the two Citroens for more than 20 seconds through the mid-section of the test, but it is now all for naught. Latvala dropped more than weven-minutes on the stage and is now seventh overall. No report on damage, but he may be in trouble for the power stage. An unfair situation for the Finn., who has in some ways been the man of the rally this weekednd, but, as they say, that's racing !

A chance to break clear of Latvala

Mikko Hirvonen went on to post best time, 0.7s quicker than rally leader, Sébastien Loeb who now heads to the final two stages with a 35.8 second margin to Hirvonen. Loeb is now 17kms away from a sixth Mexican triumph and the chance to break clear of Latvala in the driver’s championship.
