Peu claims win in French Rallycross opener

Samuel Peu claimed victory in the opening round of the French Rallycross Championship in Dreux over the weekend, edging a narrow A Final by less than a second.

The Peugeot 207 WRC driver took an early lead in the Division 1 points standings after a closely-fought race which saw him cross the line 0.773 seconds clear of the Renault Clio of Jerome Grosset-Janin.

Mickael Poirier was third in his BMW 1 Series with Alexandre Theuil (VW Golf) and Philippe Tollemer (Citroen C4) the other finishers.
