KMS Scirocco breaks cover in Norway

Volkswagen look set to join the Division 1 ranks of the European Rallycross Championship this season after KMS unveiled their newly-developed Scirocco 4-Motion last week.

The 2-litre, 627bhp, four-wheel-drive machine was shown off to a handful of invited Swedish media guests on a frozen lake in Norway last Friday where the car was also given its first proper shakedown.

1990’s Rallycross legend Tommy Kristoffersson, whose KMS outfit run Sciroccos in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, demoed the car which has been built by Michael Jernberg Motorsport.

While no further details have been released, a formal presentation of the car along with its 2011 programme is expected in the coming weeks.
