Isachsen retakes points lead with Dutch triumph

Just one week after being deposed as leader of the European Rallycross Championship Norwegian racer Sverre Isachsen returned to the top of the series standings with victory at Dutch venue Valkenswaard.

Ford Focus driver Isachsen came from fourth on the grid in the SuperCar final to beat countryman Ludvig Hunsbedt (Volvo) to the victory. Brit Andy Scott completed the podium in his Focus.

With erstwhile points leader Timur Timerzyanov finishing down in 11th at Valkenswaard it was a profitable weekend for Isachsen, who now heads the Russian by four points with three races left on the 2011 calendar.

Title contender Tanner Foust was eventually excluded from the meeting following a scrappy weekend that culminated in the American pushing Davy Jeanney out of the third heat. Foust now sits third in the standings, 13 points shy of Isachsen.

The next round of the championship takes place at Austrian venue Greinbach over the weekend of September 3-4.
