BRC: Doran to make Citroen debut at Lydden

Liam Doran will make his debut for the Citroen-backed Kenneth Hansen Motorsport at Lydden Hill on Easter weekend.

The 2009 British Rallycross Championship runner-up has graduated to the European series with the Swedish team this season, but will get his first taste of the Citroen C4 he will compete in the ERC during a one-off return to the British series at the opening round.

The team is using the British event as a pre-season test for Doran, who has only previously driven the C4 at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in January.

"Because the NEC event takes place inside a building you don't get a real feel for the car, so the event at Lydden is very important to me," said Doran, "Lydden is the perfect place for my first event in the car because I know the track, so it's just a question of getting the car to my liking and finding a setup that I'm happy with.

Team boss and 14-time European champion, Kenneth Hansen, will also be present at Lydden, but won’t race in the event as he focuses all his attention on helping his new driver. Hansen (pictured) won the Lydden Hill round of the European Rallcross Championship on his way to third in the final championship standings last season.
