Mallory cancels British Rallycross event

The scheduled Mallory Park round of this year’s British Rallycross Championship has been cancelled.

The event, which was set to run as the seventh round of the campaign on October 16, has been pulled by the circuit management as a programme of safety works will not be completed in time. British Rallycross Championship officials sought an alternative but the timing of the cancellation made such a deal impossible.

As such the championship will now consist of eight rounds, with Knockhill on September 18 and Croft on November 5-6 completing the 2011 season.
