BHRC: Trio set to return in 2010

Nick Danks, David Lloyd-Roberts and Chris Browne are all set to return to the British Historic Rally Championship in 2010.

Browne took a year out of rallying last season to marry his co-driver Ali Cornwall and will make his comeback driving an Escort Mk1, although without his new bride as his navigator as the experienced Liz Jordan takes over.

“I didn’t do a single event last year,” he told Motorsport News. “In fact, the wedding cost more than a season of rallying, so I am going to do all eight rounds of the BHRC this season and hopefully the Ypres Historic Rally as well.”

Danks will make his return following a long absence from the sport and will also drive an Escort Mk1 in the C2 class, starting with the Bulldog Rally in March.

Welshman Lloyd-Roberts will contest an Escort Mk2 concentrating predominantly on the Waterend Gravel Cup which runs within the BHRC. He will tackle the three gravel events in Wales as well as the Pirelli and Trackrod Historic rallies.
