A 104 year-old car that’s to be driven nearly 4,000 miles across the USA will be making a star appearance at the Silverstone Classic, thanks to its owner, and classic and collector car insurance specialists and event co-sponsor, Hagerty International.

The 1904 Oldsmobile horseless carriage, insured by Hagerty for over £40,000, harks back to the very dawn of motoring, when the car was priced at just $650.

On Sunday 27 July a new record will be attempted when over 100 GP/F1 cars, ranging from the ERAs and Alfa Romeos of the mid-1930s through to the Ferrari’s, Renault’s and Honda’s, of the 1990s, take to the track to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the first Grand Prix held at Silverstone in 1948. 

This acomplishment  will constitute the greatest number of GP/F1 cars on licensed Grand Prix circuit at the same time.

The Silverstone Classic on 25/26/27 July will be a truly global event, with drivers travelling from all corners of the world to compete on the renowned Grand Prix circuit.

From the 900 drivers taking part in the Silverstone Classic, a remarkable total of 99 of them are from outside the UK, and their presence adds further to the prestige of the 21-race festival of classic motor racing.
