CAROTHERSRACE OF CHAMPIONS

Coulthard signs-up for Race of Champions

Former grand prix star David Coulthard will return to the Race of Champions this year after signing-up to compete at the Dusseldorf-based event.

The 13-time F1 race-winner, who now races in German tin-top series DTM, has been a regular at the season-ending event, making five previous appearances including a run to the Grand Final at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2008.

He is the third British racer to commit to this year's RoC following F1 champion Jenson Button and multiple World Touring Car title-winner Andy Priaulx.

“This will be my sixth appearance at the Race of Champions,” commented Coulthard. “It’s a totally unique event and it’s a pleasure to take part.

"Every year there is very exciting racing, and for the fans there’s nothing quite like being able to see the whole track. I’ve come pretty close to winning it in the past so I’ll dust off my helmet again and see what happens this time. But win or lose it’s always a bit of fun to end the season.”

This year’s Race of Champions takes place at Dusseldorf’s Esprit arena over the weekend of December 3/4.
