Supercopa: Blanckley set for Seat assault
Former British Touring Car Championship racer Simon Blanckley will race in the new Seat Leon Supercopa Challenge this year. The 41-year-old drove a Honda Integra in the BTCC in 2007 for Sibsport and will remain with the team in the Supercopa. Blanckley, who own a Leon Mk2, has already upgraded his car to meet the championship’s rules. The Seat Leon Supercopa Challenge was formed this winter to fill the gap left by Seat’s withdrawal of the Leon Cup from the BTCC TOCA package. The inaugural season will begin on 18-19 April at Donington Park and will also visit Angelsey, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Snetterton and Spa this year. Highlights of the Seat Leon Supercopa Challenge will be included in Race and Rally UK which is shown on Motors TV.
