LET: Series planning 1000km race

The Lotus Elise Trophy is planning a 1000km endurance race at Snetterton next season after a successful first long-distance race at Brands Hatch this month.

The 90-minute event attracted a strong field of 29 cars at the Kent circuit, while the series has generally drawn large grids throughout the season.

“We’re going to do either a 1000km or 12-hour race next year, hopefully at Snetterton sometime between June and September,” said series boss Paul Golding.

“The race at Brands was a test to see if the cars would be reliable and if our refuelling system worked, and everything went perfectly.

“We’re hoping that other Lotus cars from other series around Europe will come along and race with us as well.”
