LCE: Seven round calendar announced

Organisers of the Lotus Cup Europe have released the series’ 2010 calendar which will see seven rounds taking place in five countries across the continent.

Grids for the series have tripled in size this year and will next season the Cup will visit some of finest circuits in Europe including Spa-Francorchamps, the Nurburgring and Zolder, where it will support the FIA Truck Grand Prix. The series will also be on the bill at the annual Lotus Festival at Snetterton in June.

The series will again be split into three main classes, Production (for series 1 and 2 Elises and NA Exiges), 211 (for standard and slightly modified 2-Eleven cars) and Exige Cup (for Exige S2 Cup cars and S2 Exige variants). An Invitation class has also been added and will include the Elise S, modified Elises, the 340R and any other cars not fitting into the three main classes.

The 2010 season will kick off at the Nurburgring at the end of April and finish at Assen in October.

23-24 October – Assen, Holland
