Walker ends Pochauvin’s winning streak in GermanyJonathan Walker scored a Lotus Cup Europe double victory at the Nurburgring last weekend to end Rémi Pochauvin’s early season dominance. Walker was made to work for his race one win after Pochauvin’s excellent start saw him take the lead into the first corner, before Chistophe Lisandre took his turn at the head of the leading six-car train. A poor getaway had seen Walker drop down the order in the early stages before a late rally helped him lead home fellow 2-Eleven runners Lisandre and Phillippe Loup. John Rasse’s fourth place gave him the Exige Cup spoils ahead of Pochauvin, Karl Vivion and Gregory Rasse’s leading Evora entry, while David Fenn was the first Elise driver home in ninth. Adam Bewsey bagged production victory. Walker’s slow start to the second again gave others hope as Pochauvin once more made the early running. This time the BG Developments driver wasn’t hanging around though and soon assumed the lead. That left those behind battling for second with Vivion pipping both Pochauvin and Lisandre on the line to take the runners-up spot. Behind, there were again class wins for the Rasses while this time it was Rob Fenn who scooped the Elise spoils. Dan Plant edged out Bewsey in Production after the race one winner was forced to fight his way back through the field following early problems.
