CSMEC: Al Musalam gives Raffii V8 test prize

Chevrolet Supercar Middle East Champion Fahad Al Musalam has given away his prize V8 Supercar test to fellow competitor Raed Raffii.

Al Musalam was awarded a three day test in Australia with V8 squad Paul Morris Motorsport after clinching the CSMEC crown in the final round in Riyadh in March. However, he has now announced that he will be giving away his prize to Raffii, who finished fourth in the standings, in an effort to give another Bahraini driver exposure to the international stage.

“This is the second consecutive title I have won and received the prize for,” said Al Musalam. “Last year I was fortunate enough to travel to Australia and test with the Gary Rogers racing team, which was an invaluable experience and helped my development as a driver.

“I feel it is important to give other local drivers this opportunity too, and this is why I would like to give the test session to Raed Raffii. I am very happy to give him this opportunity and he will learn a lot from it.”

Raffii expressed his thanks and excitement at his unexpected opportunity.

“I am very happy to receive this prize from Fahad,” he said. “I am very proud to be able to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in Australia and demonstrate the potential we have here for motorsport.

“I will present Bahrain in the best light possible during the test session and will give a good performance. It is an opportunity of a life time and I am sure I will learn much from it.
