Indycar refugee eyes ARCA for 2011

Indycar racer Milka Duno is considering a full-time switch to the ARCA Series in 2011 as her chances of remaining in the single-seater formula continue to fade.

38-year-old Duno has run sporadically in Indycar since 2007, taking her best finish to date with 11th in that year’s Texas event. 2010 saw her run a full schedule for the first time but she struggled badly on non-oval circuits, incurring the wrath of her competitors and often being parked early in proceedings by race organiseres.

Pocono Raceway will once again host two ARCA Series events in 2011, continuing the Pennsylvania venue's long association with the stock car championship.

Both events will act as part of the support package for NASCAR's Sprint Cup, with the first set to run on June 11 and the second on August 6 of next year.

The stock car championship first visited the Indiana venue in 1957 and has competed there sporadically since. A total of 21 races have been run at the circuit to date, the last in 2007.
