ARCA: 2011 calendar takes shape.

The work-in-progress ARCA Series schedule for the 2011 season has continued to take shape, with three more race dates for the stock car championship confirmed today

Talladega Superspeedway will host the series on April 15, opening a weekend of NASCAR Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup action.

Kansas Speedway will do the same on October 7, with the ARCA event preceding NASCRA's Chase for the Sprint Cup round at the Missouri venue. The race moves back to a Friday, having been run on a Thursday in 2009 and 2010.

Chicagoland Speedway will welcome ARCA on June 4 as the first event of a same-day double-header with the Nationwide Series. The Chicagoland race moves from its former slot in late August/early September.

"These three tracks are great facilities in great markets," said ARCA president Ron Drager. "This is a real opportunity for our teams and drivers to be on track during the high-visibility ISC race weekends,"

"Our relationship with these tracks is continually evolving, as evidenced by Kansas moving our race from a Thursday afternoon to a Friday evening and expanding our potential audience, and Chicagoland offering this opportunity for us to run with the Nationwide Series."

ARCA will continue to announce its 2011 plans over the coming weeks. Thus far seven events have been confirmed.

Indycar racer Milka Duno is considering a full-time switch to the ARCA Series in 2011 as her chances of remaining in the single-seater formula continue to fade.

38-year-old Duno has run sporadically in Indycar since 2007, taking her best finish to date with 11th in that year’s Texas event. 2010 saw her run a full schedule for the first time but she struggled badly on non-oval circuits, incurring the wrath of her competitors and often being parked early in proceedings by race organiseres.

Having released news of several individual events over the past few weeks, organisers of the ARCA Racing Series have finally unveiled the full 19-round schedule for the 2011 season.

The ARCA Racing Series has announced two more dates for its 2011 season calendar with back-to-back Saturday night events at Berlin Raceway and Iowa Speedway planned for the month of July.

Pocono Raceway will once again host two ARCA Series events in 2011, continuing the Pennsylvania venue's long association with the stock car championship.

Both events will act as part of the support package for NASCAR's Sprint Cup, with the first set to run on June 11 and the second on August 6 of next year.
