2011 ARCA calendar finally unveiled

Having released news of several individual events over the past few weeks, organisers of the ARCA Racing Series have finally unveiled the full 19-round schedule for the 2011 season.

The schedule for the stock car series’ 59th season includes a mix of superspeedways, short tracks, dirt tracks and road courses and opens at Daytona International Speedway in February before closing at Toledo Speedway in mid-October.

Daytona’s inclusion on the calendar represents the 48th consecutive year that the iconic Florida venue has been part of the ARCA schedule.

"We're extremely proud of the depth and quality of the venues on the 2011 schedule, each of which is very important to the identity and industry position of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards," said ARCA president Ron Drager. "Both the number of scheduled events and the geographic coverage represented by the markets we'll be racing in are good fits for the series."

Other notable events include return visits to the O’Reilly Raceway Park and Winchester Speedway as well as a first-ever appearance at the Madison International Speedway in Oregan.

Kansas, Michigan, Chicagoland, Pocono and Talladega are the other big speedway venues alongside short track races at Salem, Berlin and Iowa. The Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairgrounds represent the dirt track courses, while a new road course event will take place at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Once again, ARCA will race on the same bill as the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series at several rounds.
