750: Reynard's Inverter set for race debut

Reynard’s brand new Inverter prototype will make its competitive debut at Snetterton on September 18/19.

The car’s designer, Adrian Reynard, will be behind the wheel of his 1340cc Suzuki Hayabusa-powered machine at the 750 Motor Club Bik Sports races at the Norfolk venue.

It will be the first time in 30 years that the 59-year-old has raced competitively. But despite its high profile constructor’s reputation, Reynard isn’t targeting instant results.

“I’m really excited but I’m also very nervous about it all,” he said. “I was planning to do the full season but we’ve had so many delays in getting the car to pass the necessary test for road use.

“I haven’t raced since 1980 so expecting a win is maybe a step too far. I’m going out to have fun and enjoy the thrill of racing again.”
