Autorlando Sport announce GT Sprint entry

Autorlando Sport are set to join the Superstars GT Sprint field at Misano next month after confirming it will enter a GT2-spec Porsche.

The reigning International GT Open champions will hope to challenge the established Ferrari order with Glauco Solieri behind the wheel. The 46-year-old Italian finished fifth last season after scoring four podiums with the Edil Cris outfit.

Despite his inexperience of the 911, Solieri is confident of carrying the fight o Ferrari on home turf at Misano.

“I'm proud to be racing for a renowned and successful team like Autorlando,” he said. “I've always been tied to the Ferrari brand, but I want to do well with Porsche since the beginning. I'm sure that our relationship will meet all expectations, and we already completed a test which ended with some great laptimes on the log.

“The team has been a perfect fit for me and I'm eager to continue my stint in the International GT Sprint Series, which I consider the reference point in GT racing. Now we're already focusing on Misano. I know the track really well and we're looking forward to provide Ferrari with some tough opposition.”

Team Manager Orlando Redolfi added: “Finally we'll be able to join the International GT Sprint Series, and in order to face this brand-new adventure we'll rely on Glauco Solieri, who has already entered the championship in the past and will provide us with some good experience.

“Our goal is to do well right from the start at Misano. We're really excited for our new challenge: we consider GTSprint a top-notch environment in motor sports, with an highly-valuable media impact and a premium TV coverage.”
