PSC: Bridgman gets seat with new Anglo-German outfit

Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion will graduate to the Supercup this season with Schnabl Engineering Team Parker Racing.

The German and British squads have combined to field a two-car entry in the F1-supporting series and have confirmed their entry less than a week before the season-opener in Bahrain this weekend.

The team will field cars for Bridgman, who steps up to the series after two successful seasons in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, which culminated in him winning the title with Team Parker Racing last year, and Irishman Niall Breen, who was recently named a ‘Porsche Motorsport Talent’ driver and will receive support from Porsche.

Bridgman revealed he has complete faith in Team Parker Racing team principal, Stuart Parker, and is delighted to be retaining his links to the Leicester-based team.

“In the two years I have worked with Stuart Parker he has been my engineer and my team manager and knows exactly what kind of set-up I prefer in a race car,” said Bridgman, who has also won single-seater titles in Formula Palmer Audi and Formula BMW UK.

Breen makes the switch to the Supercup having raced in Formula BMW UK, where he won the 2006 title, British F3 and the F3 Euro Series.

He didn’t race at all last season due to budget restrictions, but was handed a career lifeline after winning one of five places on Porsche’s Motorsport Talent programme and a scholarship to the Supercup.
