GT Open: Apex Jaguar to make series debut

Apex Motorsport will hand their Jaguar XKR-S GT3 its International GT Open debut at Donington Park this weekend.

The British squad has missed the last two rounds of the FIA GT3 European Championship, but will be back out on track as the GT Open completes the second of its back-to-back double-header which began last weekend at Spa.

BTCC rising star Adam Jones will be on driving duties alongside the 17-year-old Leyton Clarke, who steps up to GT racing having won the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup in 2008 and SAXMAX in 2007.

The team’s Jaguar will race in the GTS category and will be joined by a number of other new entries, including a Lamborghini Gallardo for British GT outfit Tech9 Motorsport and a Marcos Mantis driven by Dutch Supercar Challenge regular Cor Euser and his Spanish team-mate Luis Bermudez de Castro.

Watch International GT Open from Donington on Motors TV (Sky Channel 413, Virgin Media 545) on Saturday 11 July at 3.30pm (BST).
